By 2050 Africa's cities are projected to exceed 1.3bn people - that's double the population of today. Many of these cities are already bursting at the seams. If properly managed this presents Africa with a great opportunity to capitalise upon a young and ambitious population...but, if the right leadership and planning is not there, this could be a ticking time-bomb for Africa, presenting an unparalleled demographic disaster.

The Brenthurst Foundation, have spent the last 18-months researching this and examining what steps African cities are taking to prepare for this influx.

This short film outlines the situation and the steps that African governments need to take if they are to meet the challenges that lay ahead.
