Franchising is coming to the NA LCS for the 2018 season and it’s going to bring sweeping changes to the competitive esports scene.

Although no one really knows for sure how everything will work out. We do have some initial guesses.

But before we look forward we need to look back at just how far we've come since the start of it all.

Here's a look at a brief history of the LCS and how franchising could change the esports landscape.
